Hair Plans

I currently have braids in my hair, and I am pretty sure that they will take me to 26 weeks post, which will equal six months. Unfortunately, I will not be near my stylist for another 3 weeks after that, so I will put my hair back in pixie braids and wear them until I go home again.

I am actually almost sure that I will spend the next year protective styling by using the crown and glory method. I want to take a break from manipulating my hair, and I just want to be surprised by my growth instead of watching it grow. I did the crown and glory method at the beginning of my hair journey, so I know that I can be successful doing it.

I install my own individual braids or senegalese twists, so I do not have to worry about being near a stylist. If I go this route, I think I will wait to relax until the end of next year so that my hair is strong during these months. I do not want breakage, plus Senegalese twists will look better with some new growth to keep them in place and relaxed hair to blend with the braid hair.

In the mean time, I will continue to follow this pixie braid regimen by washing my hair and braiding. I want to enjoy low manipulation for awhile for optimal length retention.

  1. You should do a video to show how you take care of your braids. I know for me that the thought of washing my braids sounds like it cut the length of time i could wear them by half due to frizz.

  2. I will do just that once I install them, thanks for the request. I am loading a video of the braids I have in now (no extension hair), that shows how I maintain them.
